Winter!: Prepare for holiday gaming!
Final Fantasy is an interesting take on the standard J-RPG formula. Instead of turn-based combat, battles take place in normal time, relying on the quick switching of roles to beat enemies. Final Fantasy XIII is also backed up by a decent story that succeeds due to the immense and intriguing backstory. While this game strays from the series' conventional mainstays such as open environments and player-chosen commands, the active and exciting battles and gorgeous visuals more than make up for such flaws. In the end, FFXIII is a fun, refreshing twist on the J-RPG genre.
